Your new role
The National Accounts Business Development Manager will support the Senior National Key Account lead, Business Development Director and the Frameworks, Heads of Service Team.
This is a newly created role, which has arisen due to current and predicted growth within key national sectors and clients.
The role consists of key account management, serving as the primary contact for queries from existing clients, and also supporting wider strategic business development activities such as research, networking, and client presentations. The output being you grow and expanding your network as a SCAPE representative and contributor within mid- to senior-level professional environments.
You’ll be focused on identifying new opportunities across the construction sector (commercial, industrial, infrastructure, residential) and building new client and partner relationships, ensuring they are established, developed and maintained to enhance our reputation and maximise growth.
It’s a field based national role, so your home location can be flexible, but you must be willing to undertake regular travel to London and the South East and also regular visits to our Head Office in Nottingham You’ll need to be comfortable working independently and on the move, in a fast paced environment.
You’ll also need to build collaborative relationships with existing leadership teams across the Group (Design, Preconstruction / Project Management) to ensure the quality of your business development activity is consistent and the client service experience.
What you’ll bring
With a proven track record as a National Business Development Manager, of developing and delivering strategic business growth and improvement plans at an organisational level.
Comfortable with engaging and holding conversation with senior leaders and decision makers within national accounts such as Ministry of Defence (MoD); Defence Infrastructure Organisational (DIO), National Infrastructure and Service Transformation Authority (NISTA) National Health Service (NHS), Ministry of Justice (MoJ); significant energy and natural resource providers.
Degree level qualification in construction, property, business management or significant experience in the sector.
An understanding of the built environment including procurement, design, costs, and the construction process including the use of frameworks and Modern Methods of Construction.
An understanding of current issues and trends within Government and the wider public sector including national infrastructure and defence Essential AI.
Knowledge of regulations, legislation, and technical standards related to buildings and the construction process.
Experience of using information management tools in relation to business development including CRM and PowerBI.
Be able to evidence gathering research and market intelligence, to inform decisions and drive performance improvement.
