Helping to regenerate Dundee’s Waterfront.

The Earl Grey Building offers Grade A office space and is part of the ongoing £1billion regeneration of Dundee Waterfront, one of Scotland’s biggest urban developments.

The award-winning development overlooks the V&A Dundee, Discovery Point and the River Tay.

The project was procured through SCAPE SCOTLAND Construction, and delivered by Robertson in partnership with Willmott Dixon. Our direct award framework saved Dundee City Council both time and cost.

The Earl Grey development sits on Site 6, a prime location in the Central Waterfront. The five-storey building offers 50,000 sq ft of Grade A office space with two retail units on the ground floor.

The office block is part of a broader development on the site which includes 67 apartments for private rent and a 120-bed hotel. The regeneration of the Waterfront hopes to attract more businesses and tourists to this area of the city.

The office space required an innovative design solution to allow occupiers the opportunity to create an environment that suits their needs.

This was solved with the design and build of highly flexible, virtually column free floor plates creating an inspirational space and a blank canvas for occupiers.

In 2020, the project won a BCO Scotland award for best Commercial Workplace. Judges were particularly impressed by the building’s strong environmental accreditation and striking impact on the landscape.

The project also won a Silver Considerate Constructors award.

This is another important milestone in the transformation of our Central Waterfront. This development and others in the Central Waterfront will not only act as a magnet for future employers but also create opportunities for workers in the construction sector.
