#NAW 2021 - Caitlin's story
This week is National Apprenticeship Week 2021, so we’re catching up with some of our SCAPE apprentices, to see how their careers have progressed since we last spoke to them.
We first featured Caitlin’s story in 2017, when she began her apprenticeship with SCAPE and now, four years later her career is flourishing.
As a school leaver, Caitlin knew she wanted an admin-based career and felt that an apprenticeship would help her gain the right skills and knowledge to achieve this.
Working with apprenticeship provider, Training for Business, Caitlin began her apprenticeship at SCAPE and achieved Level 2 Business Administration NVQ. Upon completion it was agreed that a Customer Service qualification would benefit her career and so Caitlin began another apprenticeship, to gain Level 2 Customer Service Practitioner qualification.
Caitlin has approached both her apprenticeships with enthusiasm and professionalism. She has been a joy to mentor and has always been keen to learn new things. I am looking forward to continuing to support her in her ambition to become a Personal Assistant

Caitlin now has a
permanent role at SCAPE as Clerical Assistant/Receptionist, with an ambition to become a Personal Assistant.
Both apprenticeships helped me gain experience, learn and get paid at the same time. They helped me gain experience and confidence in my role. I would definitely recommend apprenticeships to anyone

She feels that her
apprenticeships have given her a good start on this pathway and have provided
her with skills that will continue to help her, throughout her career.
