First on site project for Regional Construction framework
The Regional Construction framework, which launched in January of this year, provides construction services for public sector projects in the Midlands and East of England, placing emphasis on creating opportunities for local Small-Medium Enterprises (SMEs) within its supply chain through embedded social value.
The work at the Academy is being undertaken to improve and expand the current teaching facilities to offer its 850+ students a more comfortable and inspiring learning environment.
Once complete, the Academy will have a new textile room, food technology room as well as a new and improved library, all of which are expected to be completed ready for the new school term in September. The Academy’s servery area will also be refurbished to create a more open space to accommodate the growing number of pupils.
Victoria Brambini, Managing Director, SCAPE Procure, said: “Lincoln Castle Academy marks a milestone moment for both G F Tomlinson and the Regional Construction framework in ambitious Lincolnshire."
The performance management processes embedded into our frameworks guarantee certainty of cost, time and quality for the client, essential to ensure that the refreshed Academy is ready to provide a best-in-class learning experience to its students in the new school year.

Louise Laming, Headteacher at Lincoln Castle Academy said: "As an over-subscribed academy, we are delighted to be able to improve facilities to accommodate larger numbers of students. With some buildings nearly 50 years old, we welcome this investment which will revitalise classrooms and provide larger canteen facilities. The additional food room, improved textiles room and redesigned library and study suite will ensure students benefit from an inspirational environment. Applications to Lincoln Castle Academy have increased by over 20% in recent years; with more students and ambitious plans for the future, we are committed to providing a modern, vibrant environment in which the next generation can thrive. Students and staff are thrilled to receive this investment in our school."
The team at G F Tomlinson has been excellent at keeping the project moving on a very busy, live site and helping to meet the very tight timescales that we have for delivery.
