Expanding our Executive Leadership Team

We have hired Caroline Compton-James as our new Deputy Chief Executive to drive business growth and enhance our strategic capacity.

Caroline was previously Public Sector Director at Osborne, where she led strategic frameworks across the residential and education sectors. Prior to Osborne, she was Head of Construction at the Cabinet Office, engaging with departments across Whitehall to implement the Government Construction Strategy.

Caroline will work alongside our Group Chief Executive (GCE) Mark Robinson, with particular focus on expanding our framework capabilities, driving enhanced performance across the SCAPE Group and improving customer service for clients across the UK.

“As we look to enhance our reach and better serve the public sector, we are excited to welcome Caroline to the team. She brings a wealth of experience and a deep knowledge of the built environment, and I look forward to working together to further support local authorities in delivering socially-sustainable places and improving communities across the country.

Creating positive social change

Caroline shares our commitment to supporting the public sector to bring about positive social change through collaborative partnerships and sustainable procurement. She has held a number of advisory positions which will inform her approach, including as former Deputy Chair of the Housing Forum, where she championed the conversation on decarbonisation, and former chair of the Civil Engineering Contractors Association (CECA) Public Affairs Committee.

She has also held positions on the Confederation of Business and Industry (CBI) London Regional Council and as a Non-Executive Board Member of Tower Hamlets Homes. Caroline joins an Executive Leadership Team that is keen to share knowledge and expertise with public sector colleagues, peers and the construction industry.

Recent appointments include Mark Robinson joining the UK Green Building Council as a Board Member and Trustee and Build UK as its first client Board Member. Other senior leaders at SCAPE also hold long-term roles with industry bodies and collaborative groups, who share our focus on continuous improvement.

I am delighted to join SCAPE to support Mark and his team. SCAPE offers public sector clients a number of compliant, collaborative and efficient routes to market. I am excited to develop these further to enhance the value we offer to them and the communities we work within.
